Whether summer or winter, it always feels great to have a nice, healthy glow to your skin. Having a sun-kissed look can even out your skin tone and make you look like you get plenty of sun (no matter what season)! Did you know that you can achieve that perfect glow through the strategic use of cosmetics? Yep! Forget about sitting for hours in the sun or climbing inside of a tanning bed and exposing yourself to dangerous radiation! Learn how to use makeup to give you that natural, healthy glow you desire. 1. Invest In A Good Bronzer: I bet you didn't think that you could achieve that sun-kissed glow as easily as applying a high-quality bronzer. The majority of drugstores and cosmetic stores carry a variety of bronzers for you to choose from. Choose wisely. If you have a warmer skin tone, you will want to go with a golden-brown shade. If you have pale skin, you will want to opt for a peach shade. Make sure you select a bronzer that compliments your skin tone and never go
overboard, or you will end up with that dreaded "fake tan" look. If you are not sure which bronzer to select, don't be afraid to ask a makeup consultant at the cosmetic store! That's what they are there for, and they are happy to help! Application is simple, use a makeup brush and lightly trace the apples of your cheeks, hairlines, bridge of your nose, and the tip of your chin.
2. Choose A Golden Eye Shadow: When selecting an eye shadow, a golden shade is
ideal but yellow, orange, or coral will also work.
This will compliment the use of a bronzer and give you that natural, sun-kissed glow without ever having to see the inside of a tanning bed! You will want to apply the shadow over your eyelids, including the inner corners as well as lightly underneath the eye. For a more dramatic appearance, finish the look with black or white eyeliner and mascara.
3. Opt For Nude Lipstick: Summer is the perfect time to stash away the bold colors and opt for a nude shade of lipstick instead! Coral is a great nude choice, that adds a little bit of shimmer too! Depending on your skin tone, you can choose a lighter or darker shade of nude. If you want a "dewy" look, apply a thin layer of clear lipgloss over your lipstick of choice.
